Bengaluru: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which is investigating Raichur engineering student, Madhu Pattar’s death case has reportedly got a hint that a man belonging to an influencial family is also involved in the crime. It is also said that Madhu was gang raped, and there are more people involved in the crime.
The dead body of the victim, which was half burnt was found hanging from a tree near a temple in Raichur. “We have found out that a text message was sent from the deceased student’s mobile to another person of the same area where her body was found. It has come to our notice that accused Sudarshan Yadav was with three more men at the spot when the incident took place. We are examining CCTV footages, and soon the identity of the other three accused will be revealed. One among them belongs to an influencial family,” said a source from the investigating team who does not want to disclose his name.
A team from Bengaluru’s Forensic Science laboratory has visited the spot in Raichur and has gathered evidences including the death note of the victim, which will be examined by handwriting experts.
The involvement of a person belonging to an influencial family has not been mentioned in the FIR despite the statements of the victim’s friends which suggest the same. Madhu’s family members and friends firmly deny to accept that she commited suicide. “If she had hanged herself, why is her body half burnt?” they ask.
Madhu’s family members suspect the credentials of the death note, which is said to be written by her. They argue that Madhu would usually communicate and write in English, but the death note is in Kannada. The investigation team has also failed to confirm if the hand writing in the death note is of Madhu. “We have not found a single note other than the death note, in which she has written in Kannada,” said the source.
Reportedly, Madhu had sent Whatsapp messages to Sudarshan Yadav’s brother. It is said that Madhu used to send messages to Sudarshan’s brother complaining to him that he was misbehaving with her.
According to reports, Yadav had recently misbehaved with Madhu near the city’s RTO circle by pulling her arm towards him, and also threatened her of dire consequences if she tries to avoid him. It is said that the spot where Madhu’s dead body was found, is the place where Yadav and his friends usually party. This is raising more suspicion that she could have been kidnapped and brought to the spot by a group of Yadav’s friends before raping and murdering her.
Several students’ associations are protesting against the murder of Madhu. Family members and various associations have demanded a fair investigation into the matter.
