Bengaluru: A strange loud sound was heard by many Bengalureans on Wednesday, May 20 afternoon. While some termed the sound that was heard at about 1.30 PM as a ‘sonic boom’ others thought it was the result of an earthquake as tremours were also experienced alongside the sound.
The loud sound was heard in areas like Hosur, Whitefield, Ulsoor, Vivek Nagar, HSR Layout, CV Raman Nagar, HAL, Cooke Town, and others.
While the city, state, and the rest of the country awaited an answer to the question: “What was that sound?”, netizens had some fun trying to come up with creative answers ranging from aliens to the Avengers!
Here are some funny tweets coming up with some possible explanations for the sound (the funniest of all is the last one :P).

Rumours of a very large no. of people farting in sync coming out of Bangalore. Is possible mathematically and can be mistaken for an “aircraft” which it technically is.
