Miscreants attack S R Hiremath for making allegations against HDK

Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, renowned activist S R Hiremath, who had exposed several scams across the state, was attacked by miscreants alleged to be supporters of former chief minister H K Kumaraswamy.

The incident reportedly occurred in a village near Ramanagar town, a strong belt of the Vokkaliga community and a JD(S) bastion. The JD(S) is yet to issue a statement in this regard.

A case has been registered in the Bidadi police station.

According to Hiremath, he and another activist, Ramakrishna Reddy were attacked in Kethaganahalli, a village near Ramanagar town.

Hiremath and Reddy were in Kethaganahalli to collect evidence against former CM HDK in the land grabbing case. He had alleged that HDK grabbed land worth Rs 200 crores in this village.

In his complaint to the police, Hiremath stated that a group attacked him in the village. His vehicle was also damaged in the incident.

The police have launched an investigation. More details are awaited.
