Bengaluru: State tourism minister C T Ravi on Wednesday, May 13, told the media that many of the establishments that were not allowed to open in most zones will be able to start functioning after May 17.
Speaking to India Today, the minister said that there is pressure to open salons in the orange and red zones and that Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has also expressed a wish to open them after Lockdown 3.0 ends on May 17.
“The CM has expressed his wish to open them after May 17 with some restrictions. Ninety-nine per cent of them will be opened up,” he said, adding that gyms will also open with restrictions such as fever testing and sanitizers.
Minister Ravi also informed that golf courses will be opened as the sport follows physical distancing.
He added that hotels, both dining room and boarding, will also be allowed to open with up to 30 per cent capacity.
Officials with the health department, however, have denied that any decision has been made in this regard.
A per the standing regulations for Lockdown 3.0, salons, gyms and restaurants in red zones are not allowed to open.
