Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurating the TV Journalists' Association said that media should work towards the good of the society and only then people can expect changes in the society.
TV channels act like judges and advocates: CM Siddaramaiah-1The Chief Minister said that TV channels acting like judges and advocates and drawing their own conclusion for increasing their viewership is very dangerous for the society. "Media personnel should understand their responsibilities and should use the freedom of expression for the good of the society," he said.

Union Law and Parliamentary Affairs minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda said that the central govermnment is working on getting a new legislation for the protection of journalists and is expecting the media and journalists associations to give some points to be incorporated for the upcoming legislation.

Jnanpith awardee Chandrashekar Kambar said that media is a tool capable of shaking governments. "But in recent times, due to the race between TV channels, news is being sensationalised and glorified," he said. 

Prominent media personality Rajdeep Sardesai was present.
