Bengaluru: Venkatramana (52), a resident of Prakashnagar in Rajajinagar succumb to Covid, after waiting for a hospital bed for 18 hours. He had been in home isolation for 11 days after testing positive for Covid.
His daughter, Ashwini, pleaded with passers-by to help her find a ICU bed for her father who was struggling to breath.
Sources state that family tried to get through BBMP helpline but it was not of any use. As his condition got worse, they took him to the KC General Hospital but the hospital couldn’t give treatment to him. However, the family managed to get two oxygen cylinders from a government hospital near Srirampura Metro station. But all their efforts went in vain as his condition worsened.
The family said that after calling the helpline numbers, they didn’t receive a response in arranging an ICU bed for their father.
