Bengaluru: In a big twist to the war of words between the JDS and Congress leaders on the possible alliance between both the parties in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, PWD minister HD Revanna, who is also the son of JDS Supremo HD Devegowda has warned the Congress of a ‘friendly fight’ if the Congress fails to allocate 12 seats to the JDS.
“We are ready for a ‘friendly fight’ with the Congress,” he announced in Hassan.
“Our aim is to keep the communal BJP at bay by winning all the 28 Lok Sabha seats. So we want to fight in 12 seats, but if the Congress leaders are not ready to allocate these seats to us, then we will fight a ‘friendly fight,” he said adding that a final decision on seat sharing will be taken by the senior leaders of both the parties soon.
“The JDS MLAs want at least 12 seats. We are determined. When HD Deve Gowda was the CM in the year 1996 we had won 16 seats. The Congress leaders should not forget the history,” he said adding that the JDS is making possible efforts to keep the BJP away from power.
