Bengaluru: The much-awaited exit poll surveys of 2019 Lok Sabha elections conducted by several media houses are out and the surveys are predicting a massive victory for BJP led NDA, on Sunday, May 19. If the predictions come true then the BJP will continue for one more term in power.
Four exit polls have projected an easy majority for Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led national coalition NDA.
As per Times Now-VMR, the NDA will win 300 of the 542 seats for which voting was held in seven phases ending May 19. A survey by Republic TV-C Voter projects the BJP-led alliance to win 287 seats and a third by Republic – Jan Ki Baat predicted 305 seats. A fourth exit poll by News Nation predicted 282-290 seats for the ruling alliance.
A party or alliance needs 272 seats to win a majority and in 2014, the NDA had won 336 Lok Sabha seats, with the BJP alone winning 282.
The four exit polls pegged the Congress-led UPA’s seats between 118 and 128.
The Karnataka exit poll surveys too predict the BJP to have an upper hand in the vote count share. While news18 has predicted 21-23 seats for the BJP, Times Now has predicted 21 seats for the BJP. Republic TV along with CVoter and Jan Ki Baath has predicted 18 seats for the BJP, India today has predicted 21to 25 seats for the BJP in the state. If this too turns true, the Congress-JDS coalition government will be in trouble in Karnataka.
