Bengaluru: The newly sworn-in cabinet ministers of the Karnataka government will be assigned their portfolios by today, said Union Minister Prahalad Joshi.
Joshi further clarified that it had taken Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa three weeks to expand his cabinet due to the adverse floods that had hit the state.
Speaking to ANI, he said, “We delayed our oath-taking ceremony due to the floods in the state. But I am happy that today the most balanced cabinet is formed. Allocation of portfolios will also be done today itself.”
Earlier today, seventeen BJP leaders were sworn in as cabinet ministers at the Raj Bhavan in the presence of Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala and CM Yediyurappa.
Former CM Jagadish Shettar and former deputy chief ministers K S Eshwarappa and R Ashoka were among those included in the state cabinet.
BJP MP (Udupi-Chikkamagaluru) Shobha Karandlaje, DG and IGP Nilamani Raju, disqualified Shivajinagar MLA Roshan Baig and all the BJP legislators were present at the event.
