Bengaluru: Registrar of Cooperative Societies of the state issued a fresh notification to conduct an election for the post of KMF chairman. Hagaribommanahalli Congress MLA Bheema Naik and JD(S) leader, former PWD minister H D Revanna are expected to contest.
With over 20 lakh families on its pay payroll, the KMF is considered to be the most powerful body in the state.
According to sources, Naik has been able to get assurance from Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa that the government nominees and BJP-supported directors will extend their support to him. With the Congress enjoying a majority, the elections are expected to be a cakewalk for Naik.
However, four-time KMF chairman H D Revanna is expected to use his resources and contacts to get re-elected.
