Bangalore: Under the Karnataka Prohibition of Violence against Medicare Service Personnel and Damage to Property in Medicare Services Institutions Act, 2009, stringent action will be taken against the people who attack government doctors on duty, declared UT Khader, Minister for Health and Family Welfare.
He was addressing the gathering on Wednesday July 3 at the Doctor’s Day function organized by the Departments of Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education, Karnataka Medical Teachers’ Association and Karnataka State Doctors’ Association, to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. B.C. Roy.
Khader also promised to look into the demands of government doctors and place a request before the State Cabinet to increase their pay.
