Karnataka’s COVID tally hits 3,221 with 299 new cases; Two new fatalities registered

Bengaluru: The state witnessed a total of 299 cases in a single day, taking the tally to 3,221. The state also registered two new COVID deaths on Sunday taking the total fatalities to 51.

The deceased are 50-year-old male from Raichur district, who had returned from Maharashtra on May 21 and was quarantined on the same day. He died on May 28 and was tested positive for COVID on May 29.

Another victim is a 75-year-old man from Bidar who had symptoms of fever and breathlessness. He was admitted to hospital on May 18 and he died on May 29.

Raichur topped the chart with 83 new cases and maximum number of cases are returnees from Maharashtra.

District-wise break up includes- Yadagiri (44), Bidar (33), Kalaburgi (28), Vijayapura (26), Bengaluru Urban (21), Dakshina Kannada (14), Mandya and Belagavi (13 each), Ududpi (10), Davangere (6), Uttar Kannada (5), Shivamogga, Kolara and Ballari (1 each),
