Bengaluru: Karnataka, on Thursday, July 9, reported the largest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases with 2228 new infections. The state also reported 17 COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Bengaluru Urban alone reported 1373 cases. The other cases were reported from Dakshina Kannada (167), Kalaburagi (85), Dharwad (75), Mysuru (52), Ballari (41), Davanagere (40), Shivamogga (37), Bagalkot (36), Kolar (34), Chikkaballapura (32), Tumakuru (27), Mandya (24), Uttara Kannada (23), Udupi (22), Hassan (21), Haveri (18), Ramanagar (17), Yadagir (16), Bengaluru Rural (16), Raichur (16), Bidar (15), Chamarajanagar (12), Belagavi (9), Gadag (6), Chikkamagaluru (5), Kodagu (4), Koppal (2), Chitradurga (2), and Vijayapura (1).
With this, the total number of infections in the state has risen to 31,105 and death toll to 486.
Meanwhile, 957 people were discharged within 24 hours, bringing the total number of discharges to 12,833.
