Bengaluru: Bidadi police brought Kampli MLA JN Ganesh, who was arrested from Gujarat on Wednesday to the city during wee hours of Thursday.
He was brought in a private flight from Ahmedabad to Bengaluru and was taken to Bidadi police station via NICE road in a police escort for investigation.
It can be recalled that Ganesh, who was absconding since January 19, after assaulting his fellow MLA Anand Singh, at a resort in Bidadi was arrested in Somanathapura in Gujarat, on Wednesday noon.
“He will be presented before the judge at 3 pm. The police will seek 5 days of police custody,” said sources.
Operation Kamala angle
Meanwhile, the arrest of Ganesh from Gujarat has given a new twist to the allegations of Operation Kamala. A few Congress leaders suspect that the BJP leaders provided a safe hideout for Ganesh in Gujarat where the party is in power.
Congress rebel leader Ramesh Jarakiholi’s visit to Ganesh’s residence on Tuesday further raised speculations.
