Bengaluru: In the ongoing infighting in the Janata Dal (Secular) party, a shocking development was witnessed when former education minister and Gubbi MLA S R Srinivas stated that the CBI is free to arrest former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy if found guilty in the phone tapping case.
“What is wrong in arresting a former chief minister if his involvement in a crime is proven with evidence?” he asked.
His statement comes as a shocker for the JD(S) which is struggling to stay afloat in the state political scene since the fall of the JD(S)-Congress coalition government.
According to sources, Srinivas is all set to quit the party and is likely to join either the Congress or the BJP.
Meanwhile, he also took a dig at HDK and party supremo H D Devegowda for not participating in the Vokkaliga protest against D K Shivakumar’s arrest in Bengaluru on Wednesday, saying that this reveals the true colours of the party.
