Bengaluru: Founder of IMA Jewels Mansoor Ali Khan, who had gone absconding to Dubai, earlier this month after details of a mammoth investment scam was exposed, has released a new video from Ras al Khaimah, here on Sunday, June 23, in which he has named some of the politicians and businessmen, claiming that they were the reason for what he is today.

In the video, which is over 15 minutes in duration, he has spelled out names of Janata Dal (S) MLC and Karnataka Jewellery Owners’ Association President C Sharavana and the association itself, former Rajya Sabha member from Congress K. Rahman Khan, terrorist Mukhtar Abbas who is behind bars under TADA Act and real estate entrepreneur Fairoz Abdullah. He held these people responsible for his plight and downfall of his business as well. He said that he was supposed to return to the country on June 14, but was not able to do so as his passport and ticket were seized in Dubai.

Meanwhile, he has requested Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Alok Kumar to help all the affected families to get justice and that he would definitely return to the city.

Sharavana, in his initial reaction has said that he had no links with Mansoor and that he never came in contact with him. He has said that he had received several complaints based on jewellery being sold on no wastage and making charges for which he had told them that nothing could be done on legal grounds.

Mansoor has also revealed that he had given Rs 10 crore to an IAS officer, but has refused to reveal his name.

He was also observed saying that he was ready for CBI inquiry and that he was not a cheater. “I have been betrayed by my own community people,” he said.

As a clarification, he has said that he was not involved in a scam of Rs 4000 cr as said and that he had Rs 1350 cr with him. He has repeatedly said that he has not betrayed anyone.

It can be recalled that the IMA Jewels had shut down on June 10. The state government had formed Special Investigation Team (SIT) to dig into the case from which it was learnt that he had several properties along with humongous amount of gold and silver. They had also raided his third wife, Tabassum’s residence from where they have recovered valuable documents too.
