Bengaluru: IMA scam accused Mansoor Khan, who has been absconding ever since his scam came to light, has released another video in which he offered to surrender himself to the police. However, he also claimed that there is a conspiracy and that his life is in danger.

The video was addressed to Bengaluru Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar, in which the accused claimed that he tried to fly back to India on June 16, but was stopped. “The officials told me that I could not leave wherever I was and my ticket was cancelled,” he said in the 18-minute long video. He added that he was asked to contact the Immigration Department, however, he was unable to do so as it was shut for jumma (Friday prayers).

It can be recalled that Khan has been accused of defrauding over 40,000 investors to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore. Thousands of investors filed complaints at the Commercial Street Police Station against him after his audio clip addressed to the then Commissioner T. Suneel Kumar went viral.

In the new video, Khan claimed that there is a conspiracy against him and that he might be killed if he returned to India. He said that he would not take his life, like he said he would do in his previous video, as there are already “people ready to do that”. He also requested help in getting tickets to return to India.

As Khan levelled allegations against several individuals in the video, SIT officer S Girish said that the team would summon those named for an inquiry to verify if they are connected to the scam or not.
