Bengaluru: BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal has issued a clarification on the notice served to him by the party’s disciplinary committee for criticising the party’s high command and its state leadership.
In his statement, Yatnal has said, “I spoke as the voice of the people of my constituency. I’m the one who strictly follows the party’s guidelines. I’ve worked both as a parliamentarian and an MLA, and have good experience. I've only acted as the voice of the flood victims and have no intention of damaging the party’s name.”
Further, he said, “I’ve worked sincerely for the party and have always seen it as a mother. I was only expressing the pain of the people of my constituency."
Meanwhile, Yatnal said that he would make an apology if anyone was hurt by his statement and added that he did not mean to cause any harm to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president and Union Home Minister Amit Shah or any other party leader or the party on the whole.
It can be recalled that a while ago, Yatnal had expressed frustration with BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel and the party high command for not responding to Karnataka's flood victims promptly.
