Bengaluru: Chief Secretary P Ravi Kumar has issued a notification making it compulsory for private hospitals to display the bed status and set up help desks. On Saturday May 1, in the notification he warned the hospital’s of strict action if they did not comply with the orders.

As per notification, it has been made mandatory that all hospitals registered under the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments (KPME) Act display at the reception counter bed allocation display board. This is because the patients are unable to get beds even after BBMP’s central allocation system, Kumar stated.

The display should have the hospital’s name, the total number of beds and the number of beds allocated for Covid – 19 patients referred by the BBMP. The above data must match with the data of the central bed allocation system of BBMP, notification states.
