Bengaluru: Amid the political confusion in the state with the Congress-Janata Dal (S) state coalition going for its crucial floor test today, i.e., on Tuesday, July 23 at 6 PM, two independent candidates H Nagesh and R Shankar who are said to be in an apartment located at Race Course Road are expected to make their way to the Assembly today and attend the floor test.
While the Bharatiya Janata Party is trying to reach them and get them to the assembly and take them into its confidence, Congress leader Ivan D’Souza has left the Vidhana Soudha on party orders to get them to favour the state coalition.
High political drama took place outside the apartment complex where the rebel independent candidates are staying. Verbal clashes between the BJP and Congress party workers are on and the Congress party workers were trying to enter the apartments to get them out.
Meanwhile, the police intervened and pushed the Congress party workers from the apartment gates and have restricted anybody from across political parties entering the premises.
Earlier, today, ‘troubleshooter’ of state coalition and State Water Resource Minister D K Shivakumar had challenged the independent candidates and said, “We’ll see how the independent candidates will not go in favour of state coalition. They are just a kilometre away from the Vidhana Soudha and I am sure they will come for the floor test.”
