Bengaluru: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for seven districts including Dakshina Kannada and Udupi following the forecast of heavy rainfall.
The yellow alert will continue till August 8. The districts which are under yellow alerts are Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Chikkamagalur, Shivamogga and Hassan Districts.
The IMD forecasted heavy rainfall in these districts for the next three days. The district administrations have been asked to be alert.
Meanwhile, most parts of the Shivamogga district witnessed heavy rainfall on Wednesday night causing huge damage to the plantations and the MESCOM. Hundreds of electric poles have been uprooted disrupting the electricity supply.
