Bengaluru: The State High Court has dismissed a PIL challenging the postponement of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) beyond August 31, 2021.
The division bench was headed by Justice B V Nagarathna. The bench noted that the Central Government’s decision to hold the test after August 31, 2021 is based on the opinion of experts and logical discretion of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Further, the bench observed that the postponement of NEET was circumstantial and is backed by experts. Also, it is a case of postponement and not cancellation, the bench stated.
The petition was filed by G B Kulkarni Memorial Legal Trust, represented by its president Dr. Vinod G. Kulkarni.
