Bengaluru: During an anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) protest, a protester allegedly shouted pro-Pakistan slogans, one of them being “Pakistan Zindabad”.

On Thursday, February 20, the Tipu Sultan United Front had organized a massive anti-CAA protest, in which All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi was invited as a chief speaker.

At this point in time, a 19-year-old girl named Amulya Leona, who is a student activist, walked on to the stage and allegedly began shouting “Pakistan Zindabad” repeatedly into the mic. Hearing this, Owaisi immediately pulled the mic from her and condemned her act.

He said, “Whatever this girl has done is not right. She should not have shouted pro-Pakistan slogans. I strongly condemn it. We are all from Hindusthan and we are Hindusthanis. She has shouted the wrong slogans.”

A video of the incident has also emerged where Amulya is seen shouting “Pakistan Zindabad”. At first, she takes the mic and chants Pakistan Zindabad, soon after which Owaisi is seen separating her from the mic. She somehow grabs the mic back from the others on the stage and proceeds to chant “Hindustan Zindabad”, upon which the mic is once again snatched away from her by another individual. Amulya once again manages to pull the mic and starts to say, “The difference between ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and ‘Hindustan Zindabad’ is…” when the mic is once again taken away from her. Other men on stage are seen scolding her with wagging fingers but she goes to the front of the stage through all the chaos and, sans mic, starts saying, “The difference between ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and ‘Hindustan Zindabad’ is…” before she is once again pulled back. This is where the video cuts off.

Soon after this, the police took her into custody.

It can be recalled that Amulya Leona has actively been at the forefront leading the anti-CAA protesters, right from the day the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government tabled the Bill in both the Houses (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha) of the Parliament.
