Bengaluru: When he was Chief Minister for just over 14 months, H D Kumaraswamy was criticized for staying at a luxurious hotel on the Race Course Road of the city. It was often alleged that the administration was run from the hotel.
HDK, however, justified his stay at the hotel stating that the room was lucky for him as he was offered the CM post by the Congress high command while he was in the hotel room. He also made it clear that he was paying for the room from his own pocket and not using the taxpayers’ money for the stay.
Now that his government has toppled, on Thursday evening, Kumaraswamy vacated his “lucky” room and moved of all his belongings back into his residence in J P Nagar.
According to sources, HDK decided to move out of the hotel room in order to bring down his personal expenses and ensure that he will not be criticised for staying at the hotel again.
