Don’t mislead probe, DCM Karajol warns HDK after his comment on MIA bomb scare

Bengaluru: Karnataka Deputy CM Govind Karajol has warned former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy that no one must make an attempt to derail the probe into the Mangaluru bomb-scare incident.

It may be recalled that HDK had said that the Karnataka government shouldn’t give the story a “different spin” and create “a situation of conflict” between different communities. He had also accused police of issuing doubtful statements.

This had irked the BJP and many leaders came down heavily on HDK.

Responding to HDK’s statement, Karajol said that when such serious incidents take place, the government cannot work on ‘pre-conceived notions’, instead it works on facts and findings.

“Some people have been issuing statements which can demoralize the police force. HD Kumaraswamy had served as the Chief Minister. He must be responsible while making comments,” said Karajol.

On Monday, a low-intensity explosive device was found in Mangaluru International Airport. The bomb was detonated by the bomb squad in an isolated place on the same day.

However, even as police teams worked relentlessly to nab the culprit, a youth named Adithya Rao from Udupi surrendered before the police on Wednesday, January 22 morning.
