Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has a request to people. “Don’t make me the Chief Minister because of my Dalit identity. If you do so I will feel bad. Instead, make me the CM considering my contributions to the state. That will make me happy,” he said.
Kharge was sending out this message to both his supporters and detractors.
When anti- Siddaramaiah gang in both JDS and Congress are trying to garner supporter for a Dalit CM, Kharge made it clear that he would not want to become CM just because he is a dalit.
“I am serving the state for the last 55 years. If you still consider me as a dalit leader, I will not be ready to take up this job,” he said.
He also stated that political uncertainty is sure after the by-election results. “Only party high command will take a decision. It is final,” he said.
