Bengaluru: MTB Nagaraj, MLA from Hoskote who was in the news recently for being disqualified by the Karnataka Assembly Speaker for anti-party activities, is now making headlines for purchasing the most expensive vehicle available on sale in India.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII costs Rs 9.5 crores (ex-showroom, Delhi) which translates to an on-road price of nearly Rs 11 crores. It would cost a few more crores if the purchaser opts for customisations.
Nagaraj had recently declared his assets worth more than Rs 1,000 cr and considering this, him buying a Rolls-Royce should not shock anyone. It was Congress leader Nivedith Alva who posted the picture of the swanky new car in his tweet.
It is said that Nagaraj visited the Avimukteshwara temple in his hometown of Hoskote in his new car and later left to meet Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa in it.
