Bengaluru: The Congress and Aam Admi Party (AAP) have condemned the Election Commission of India (ECI) for its action against IAS officer Mohammad Mohsin.
Mohsin, a Karnataka cadre IAS officer, was serving as secretary to the Government of Karnataka at the Department of Backward Classes Development Department. He was suspended for searching the helicopter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Sambalpur, Odisha.
Congress spokesperson Anand Sharma criticised the ECI’s move to suspend Mohsin stating that it is undemocratic. He also said that Mohsin acted in the true spirit of democracy.
The Aam Admi Party (AAP) has also questioned the move. In a tweet, the AAP stated, “… The #chowkidar lives in his own protected shell! Is the Chowkidar trying to hide something?”
