Bengaluru: With the Congress-Janata Dal (S) state coalition failing to prove its majority in the floor test, here on Tuesday, July 23, the 14-month old government has now been dissolved. The coalition governed the state from May 23, 2018 to July 23, 2019.
After failing to prove the majority and dissolving the coalition government, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy first met Speaker Ramesh Kumar in his chamber in Vidhana Soudha and later, along with State Water Resource Minister D K Shivakumar and Deputy Chief Minister Dr. G Parameshwar reached the Governor of Karnataka, Vajubhai Vala’s official residence Raj Bhavan and submitted the resignation letter.
HDK was also accompanied by JDS leaders Sa Ra Mahesh, Bandeppa Kashempur, Bhoje Gowda, H D Revanna and others.
