Bengaluru: After darting around the state, inspecting the flood-hit pockets, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, who is the only person sworn into the state Assembly will be leaving to New Delhi today, Thursday, August 15 evening. He will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, August 16 at 10 am. The CM is set to leave to New Delhi at 9 pm from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. While the CM is going to keep forth his demands for flood relief, he is also due to discuss the crucial cabinet expansion with the party’s national leadership. The CM will also meet a host of ministers- from Railways to Civil Aviation and discuss various proposals for the state. On Saturday morning, the CM will meet Union Home Minister and BJP National Chief Amit Shah. One will have to wait and watch if the recommendations for the cabinet berths proposed by the CM will be approved or rejected by the national leadership. If all goes well, then the cabinet expansion may take place on Monday, say sources. With no cabinet berths allocated, the CM was criticised by many for touring the state all alone.

Rat Race for ministerial berth
If sources are to be believed, then severe lobbying is going on by aspirants to get a share of the cake. Supporters of former Congress MLA and present BJP leader Baburao Chinchansuru kept forth a demand for cabinet berth for the leader. |The supporters told the CM that Chinchansuru was instrumental in defeating Congress veteran leader Mallikarjun Kharge. Recalling that the BJP had once promised ministerial berth to the leader, the supporters requested the CM to keep up the promise.
