Bengaluru: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has decided to follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s footsteps to strengthen his office. Following the criticisms that the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) is functioning without any directions and is very slow, he has brought two young officers into his office.
According to sources, the BJP national leadership wanted CM BSY to hire officials from non-Lingayat communities to ensure that the CMO will be non-partisan.
According to this direction, the Chief Minister’s Secretary, Shivayogi Kalasad has been shunted out and Selva Kumar has been brought in his place. Kumar was the Secretary to former CM H D Kumaraswamy as well.
R Vishal will be the Additional Secretary to the CM. He is also known for his digital intervention in the departments he previously worked.
A senior officer informed that soon, the CMO will become a “paperless” office with the BJP national leadership asking Yediyurappa to move towards a digital office.
“National Informatics Center (NIC) will take up this digitalisation work,” he explained.
