Bengaluru: Ramanagar district administration submitted a report to the state government on the controversy surrounding 114 feet Christ statue proposed atop the Kapala Betta, near Harobele in Kanakapura taluk.
While the report is said to have been submitted about a week ago, the authorities have declined to share the details of the report, which has been prepared after spot visit and document verification.
According to the sources, the report pointed out that this land was sanctioned for the statue work by the previous JDS-Congress coalition government after an approval in the state cabinet.
The government has not yet responded on the report.
Even as right-wing outfits and many BJP leaders have opposed the statue installation, the government has not given direction to stop the works.
Meanwhile, the pro Hindutva organisations continue to hold a protest against the statue in Kanakapura and Ramanagar.
Congress strongman and local MLA DK Shivakumar was caught ineye of storm for making way for the project.
