Bengaluru: Well known Kannada scholar, G. Venkatasubbaiah and a very popular Kannada lexicographer is no more. He was known for his Kannada dictionaries
He passed away in the wee hours of Monday April 19 at a private hospital in the city.
His body will be kept at his residence in Jayanagar for public homage till 12.30 noon. Later the final rites will be held in Chamarajapet crematorium in the city.
Born in in the year 1913 in Mandya district, Venkatasubbaiah is known for his knowledge of Kannada, English and Sanskrit words. He has penned over 60 books. A recipient of Padma Shri award in the year 2017, he presided over the Kannada Sahitya Sammelana also.
