Bengaluru: Industries Minister Jagdish Shettar said that he has consulted Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Pralhad Joshi and urged to reduce the amount of oxygen being shipped from the state to other states to mitigate oxygen shortage in the state during these trying times.
Speaking to media persons on Wednesday May 5 after a high-level meeting minister said that Goal has responded positively for the same. Shettar also informed that the state has spoken to Jindal and instructed them to increase oxygen production. They have already started, he added.
Currently, among 170 oxygen transport tankers in the state, currently, 68 are being supplied to other states and thus we need more tankers. Therefore, we have instructed the Transport Department to speed up converting more tankers, he added.
