Bengaluru: In the backdrop of the recent natural calamities (landslides and floods) that battered various districts in the state, a central team will be visiting Karnataka on September 7 to assess the situation.
As per reports, the team will arrive in the state on September 7 and hold a meeting with Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa.
On September 8, they are scheduled to visit the flood-hit districts like Kodagu, Belagavi, Bagalkot, and Vijayapura.
Then, on September 9, the central team is scheduled to hold a meeting with certain state Cabinet Ministers, during which, the state is expected to put forth the demand for a for Rs 4800 cr relief package.
Revenue Minister R Ashoka said that the state had requested the Centre to send a team to assess the damages suffered by the state. Accordingly the central team has decided to visit the state on September 7.
