Bengaluru: In a big relief to the suspended Karnataka IAS officer Mohammad Mohsin, the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has stayed his suspension. However, late at night the ECI issued another order barring him from all poll-related duties and recommended disciplinary action against him.
It can be recalled that on April 18, Mohsin was suspended by the Election Commission of India for checking the helicopter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Odisha. The incident happened at the Sambalpura of the Odisha and due to this, the PM was late by a few minutes to his event.
Hours after CAT relief, the ECI barred Mohsin from joining the poll duty anywhere and asked the government of Karnataka to start disciplinary proceedings against him for violating the SPG rules.
Mohsin, a Karnataka cadre IAS officer is working as the secretary to the Government of Karnataka at the Department of Backward Classes Development Department.
