Bengaluru: Former IAS officer Sasikanth Senthil has urged the people of the country not to provide any information for the National Population Register (NPR), but provide details for the census.
Addressing the gathering at a programme organized by a Dalit organization on Wednesday, January 8, he said, “I urge the people of the country to only provide your family details to the census and not the National Population Register (NPR). If they ask you information for the NPR, just reject it and cooperate only for the census.”
“Through the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), the Central government is not only plotting a strategy against the Muslims but also the Dalits. We need to peacefully protest against such a strategy,” he added.
Former chief minister Siddaramaiah, Congress leaders H Anjaneya, Zammer Ahmed and others were present.
