Bengaluru: In a dramatic development, RSS leader Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat has stated that Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa will not contest in the 2023 state assembly election. Instead, he will retire from the election politics soon after completing his term.
Speaking to the reporters in Chikkaballapur, Bhat stated that BSY informed him that this is his last term as the Chief Minister.
“He made this clear to me. After 2023 he will work for the party organisation,” said Bhat.
Bhat’s statement is expected to lead to a fresh verbal dual between BJP leaders loyal to BSY and RSS backed leaders. “Bhat is saying these things on the behest of a party leader working in New Delhi. BSY will not retire from the electoral politics in 2023. It is a false claim,” explained a party leader who wished to be unnamed.
