Bengaluru: The Bengaluru City Police arrested three people in connection with the attack on ASHA workers in the city earlier today.
It can be recalled that ASHA worker Krishnaveni and the others were attacked by locals when they went to spread awareness about the coronavirus and gather information about possible suspected cases.
There was a huge outcry after the incident. Commissioner of Police Bhaskar Rao had also said that an investigation would be conducted into the incident.
Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwathnarayan visited one of the ASHA workers who was allegedly attacked by unidentified miscreants. He termed the incident “completely demoralising” for the ASHA workers.
According to the victims, the locals did not allow them to work and around 100 people gathered and harassed them.
