Bengaluru: The BJP has issued notices to KPCC Chief DK Shivakumar and former chief minister Siddaramaiah, after the two made allegations against the BJP government at the state of multi-crore scam in purchase of medical equipment meant for COVID treatment.
The notice was issued by BJP General Secretary N Ravi Kumar.
It is said that in the notice the BJP sought answers and evidence for the allegations leveled by them.
It may be recalled that the two Congres heavyweights had said that the BJP government spent Rs 4,000 cr on medical equipment purchases, out of which Rs 2000 cr have been misappropriated.
The notice sought answers and documents for the same and said that the two are liable to reply within 15 days.
Ravi Kumar has stated that the government was ready to table all the documents sought by the two Congress leaders. Dejected by the fact that there was no scam, the two ended up making false, baseless allegations.
Responding to this, Siddaramaiah, on Friday questioned why the BJP had to issue a notice, when the allegations were leveled against the CM and a few ministers.
“We have leveled allegations against the CM, DCM Ashwath Narayan, Health Minister Sriramulu and Minister for Medical Education Dr Sudhakar. None of them have issued a notice. Not even the Principal Secretary issued a notice. It is the BJP that has issued notice to us when we have made no allegations against the party,” said Siddaramaiah adding that he is not scared of such notices.
“We remained silent for three months because it was out duty to support the government during the time of crisis. Now that the lockdown is over and now that things are falling on track, we will demand answers,” said Siddaramaiah.
