Bengaluru: The state government has issued an order making the use of biometric attendance compulsory for all its staff, starting May 1.

According to the government order, all its offices have been directed to install the biometric system immediately and follow this new system from May 1. The manual attendance system will be scrapped across the state.

The state government had introduced the biometric attendance system on September 4, 2013, but it was not followed strictly in most of the offices.

To ensure that the staff come on time and work till the end of their duty hours, the DPAR wants to make biometric attendance compulsory.
