Bad omen? Prajwal Revanna fails to break coconut, Revanna upset

Hassan: PWD minister H D Revanna is known for his belief in astrology, vastu etc. On Friday, March 22, he was upset the whole day as he faced two ‘bad omens’.

As per the advice of the astrologers, Revanna fixed Friday as the day for his son, Prajwal Revanna to file his nomination papers from the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency. Here, Prajwal will face former district in-charge minister A Manju, a former Congress leader who quit the party to join the BJP.

Friday, however, turned out to be a bad day for Revanna.

It all started early on Friday morning, when, as per beliefs, he visited the Laxmi Narasimha Swamy temple in his home constituency, Holenarasipura. After the puja, Revanna and his son got ready to break the coconut (Idugai) as per tradition. First, it was Revanna’s turn. According to tradition, a camphor was lit on the coconut held by Revanna. He was then supposed to drop the camphor on an ‘agnikunda’. While doing so, he lost his grip on the coconut and it fell on the fire along with the camphor.

Next, it was Prajwal’s turn. Even though Prajwal hit the coconut with force, it didn’t break. Both these incidents confused Revanna, who left for Hassan in a tensed mood.
