ASI attached to Whitefield dies, tests positive later

Bengaluru: A 57-year-old Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) attached to Whitefield Police Station died on Saturday night.

He had collapsed at his residence and when he was rushed to the hospital, he was declared dead on arrival.

However, his samples were tested positive for COVID-19 later and as per sources, he had no known comorbidities.

Police officials above the age of 55 have been asked to be stationed at their home since June 10.

At least 50 police personnel ave been tested positive so far and four have died in the city.
