Bengaluru: Another policeman in the Bangalore city police department has become infected on coming in contact with a coroner.
Erappa Patil was a cop at Rajarajeshwar Nagar police station. He was hospitalized for a few days with a breathing problem. When Erappa Patil’s throat was tested for fluid, Covid-19 infection was confirmed.
From there he was treated at Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru. Erappa Patil reportedly died at 10.30 am on Sunday.
Police are working day and night in the silicon city to maintain law and order and maintain traffic. On duty, an estimated 2300 police officers and staff have been infected by corona. 20 policemen have died without treatment.
