Bangalore: The renowned writer UR Ananthamurthy, who has been one of the staunchest critics of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, has described Modi’s victory as “a triumph of the advertising saturate and an endorsed marketing with the use of technology”.
On the contrary, he held the media guilty for creating a “Modi wave” and emphasizing his statement against Modi in a cynical way.
Earlier Ananthamurthy had stated that “If Modi came to power he would leave the country”, backing which he said that his statement was made in an emotional moment which has been hyped and twisted by the some people.
Acting on his statement the NaMo Brigade booked a ticket for him to leave the country and go to Pakistan.
The NaMo Brigade invited Ananthamurthy to take a flight from Bangalore to Karachi via Sri Lanka. The Sri Lanka Airlines flight was scheduled to depart to Colombo on May 17 at 3.40 am from the Kempegowda International Airport, Bangalore and arrive at Colombo airport at 5.10 am.
However Ananthamurthy cleared that he made the statement in a poignant manner and did not practically mean it.
Disparaging the party, he said that the BJP is a party with “medieval values”, he is surprised by how it had succeeded in harnessing the most advanced IT tools.
The Congress, on the other hand, had failed to use modern tools to even highlight schemes like Anna Bhagya, he said, Although I have hopes for the AAP in future, he concluded.
