Bengaluru: In a U-turn, the Karnataka government relaxes the restrictions on gyms to function at 50 per cent capacity.
The relaxations appeared after the CM received requests from various representations to relax the new Covid guidelines. The sudden restrictions on gyms came along with the new set of Covid guidelines released on April 2 in light of the spike of Covid cases in the state.
Gyms will be now allowed to operate at 50 per cent capacity provided Covid appropriate behaviour is ensured in the premises. Wearing of masks, physical distancing, and provision of hand sanitiser will be made mandatory. In case of a violation, the gym will lose its right to stay open until the pandemic blows over.
