Bengaluru: Soon after Covishield doses were delivered to Karnataka, Bharat Biotech’s vaccine Covaxin has reached the state. This is an indigenously developed vaccine which will protect the populace against Covid-19.
As many as 20,000 doses of Covaxin reached Bengaluru on Thursday and has been kept at state vaccine depot.
With this, the state now has 8.14 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccines. Earlier, 7.94 lakh doses of Covishield were received by the state government.
The Karnataka government is planning to rollout the Covid-19 vaccination drive from Saturday across all districts. Preparations for the vaccine drive have been completed and the COWIN app will be used to aid the administration of the vaccine.
