Bengaluru: Sandalwood actor Diganth Manchale of “Galipata” fame was in touch with suspected African drug peddlers and the messages exchanged between by them were deleted from his phone, a police investigation has revealed.
Diganth has been grilled twice by the CCB police in connection with the Sandalwood drug peddling case and was informed to appear before them again.
As per SOP, he has been warned not to leave Bengaluru and he is not to move anywhere except for shooting purposes. In the event that he has to leave the city for a shoot, Diganth has been instructed to inform the CCB, sources said.
Diganth’s wife Aindrita Ray had invited guests via video and also participated in a casino party organized by drug case main accused Sheikh Fazil. As soon as Sheikh Fazil was named in the case, this said video went viral. On September 16, the star couple was issued a notice by the CCB and the duo joined the investigating team on September 17.
On September 23, a notice was once again issued and Diganth alone was called for the investigation. He appeared at the Chamarajanagar CCB office and was questioned for three hours. Later, addressing the media, Diganth said that he is ready to come again if called for the investigation.
He is currently shooting for his next “Marigold”.
