187 new COVID-19 cases and one death takes state’s total to 3408, death toll to 52

Bengaluru: Karnataka reported 187 news COVID-19 cases and one death on Monday, June 1. This takes the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3,408 and the death toll to 52.

Udupi reported 73 fresh COVID-19 positive cases on Monday, taking the district’s total to 260. This includes one death and 63 discharges.

One death was reported from Bengaluru Urban. Patient 492, a 90-year-old contact of Patient 41, .was admitted to a hospital on April 24. He was moved to the ICU on May 22 and on May 25, his sepsis worsened along with multi-organ failure. He died on May 31 at the designated hospital.

The break up of today’s cases are as follows: Bengaluru Urban (28), Kalaburagi (24), Hassan (16), Mandya (15), Shivamogga (9), Chikkaballapura (5), Dakshina Kannada (4), Ballari (3), Bagalkot (2), Bidar (2), Dharwad (2), Kolar (1), Haveri (1), Vijayapura (1), and Ramanagar (1).

Of the 3,408 cases, 1,328 are discharges, 52 are deaths and two are non-COVID caused deaths. There are 2,026 active COVID-19 cases in the state.
