Government is not protecting any drug peddler: Minister Basavaraj

Bagalkot: Minister for Urban Development B. A. Basavaraj has claimed that the BJP government in the state is not protecting anyone involved in the drug mafia in that is running rampant in the state.

Addressing the media on Monday, September 7, he said that certain individuals are making baseless allegations against the government of trying to protect the people involved in drug peddling.

“Let me make it very clear here, the government will not support or protect anyone involved in the drug mafia. We will not spare anyone indulging in this illegal act,” he asserted.

With regard to the expansion of the Cabinet, he said that Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa will take the final call on the matter.

Referring to the demand for upgrading the Bagalkot Municipality into a City Corporation, the Minister said that appropriate action will be taken at the suitable time.
